Walton Eugene Scott

October 19, 1938 ~ January 1, 2022 (age 83)

Obituary

Walton Eugene Scott passed away on New Year’s Day, with his beloved wife by his side.  He was known for his creative talents, long stories, and welcoming nature.  Once you met him, you had a friend for life.

Scott was born in Dover, Delaware.  After spending time as a Lineman in the Army, he settled in Pennsylvania, where he met the love of his life, moved to the country, and raised his family.  He was a self-proclaimed, “art, shop, and gym kind of guy,” which means he had many hobbies.

He enjoyed boating and spending the 4th of July watching fireworks on the Chesapeake.  He spent countless hours back at home tinkering on tractors, various pieces of machinery and motors.  His personality truly shined through when everyone would gather for the yearly family reunion.  He would tell endless stories of his younger days, shoot skeet, take the younger generations on hayrides, and spend time catching up with family and friends.  If you came to the reunion as a friend, you would always leave feeling like family.

Though Scott had many hobbies, there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He attended every major and minor event; baptisms, birthdays, dance recitals, soccer games, nativity pageants, graduations, military ceremonies, you name it, he was there; cheering and full of pride.  He never said no to a game of Parcheesi, UNO, or bean bag toss, and enjoyed spending his days teaching the grandkids how to play boardgames, how to draw, and how to get out of cooking.  He would say he wanted to be remembered as the fun, energetic, game playing pop pop.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Anna; their children and spouses, Travis (Mari), Theresa (Jeff), Anna (Chris), and Jennifer (Milton); as well as his adoring grandchildren, Saya, Travis, Avery, Olivia, Jeffrey III, Luke, Noah, Leonardo, and Amaya; brother Harvey (Roxanne) and countless family and friends.
