Roland Johnson

June 16, 1941 — May 13, 2022

Milford - On May 13, 2022, while surrounded by his family, Roland Johnson peacefully passed away at Delaware Hospice.

He was born on June 16, 1941 in Seaford, DE to the late Clarence and Sarah Johnson.

Roland graduated from Millsboro High School, class of 1959.

After high school, he joined the Navy, and honorably served our country from 1959 to 1963. During this time he was stationed on the U.S.S. Steinaker during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

After the Navy he worked at Dover Air Force Base as a Boiler Engineer for over 30 years.

Mr. Johnson was a lifetime member of the Camden Wyoming V.F.W. and served as their Post Commander. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post  #7 and the Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge.

In his spare time he enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, quail hunting, and was known as a ‘do it yourself” kind of guy. To his family he was known as a trickster. Mr. Johnson was also very passionate about the protection of vetarens benefits.

Roland was preceded is death by his wife Doris Johnson, and his daughter Gail Marie Johnson.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Lynne Keyser and her husband Steven, his stepson, Kenneth Frazier and his wife Amy, his step daughter, Krissy Frazier and her wife Cassandra Brown, his grandson, Spence Mundorf, his step granddaughter, Mary Frazier, his step grandson, Gregory Clifton-Frazier, and his sisters, Dorothy Ann Wainwright and Gloria Jean Milligan.

As well as numerous neices and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 10AM to 12PM on Monday 5/23, with a funeral service at 12 noon.

Interment is Millsboro Veterans Cemetery.
