Parker Turner

Parker “Zeb” Turner of Lewes, Delaware entered eternal rest on August 24, 2022. He was born in Selbyville, Delaware on April 2, 1938, son of the late William and Mildred Turner. He was a 1956 graduate of Milford High School. He played in the first Blue-Gold All Star football game at the University of Delaware, served in the U. S. Army, attended Delaware Barber School, and retired from DuPont Co. after 30 years of service. Following retirement from DuPont, he returned to his trade as a barber, working at Scotty’s Barber Shop for 19 years.

Parker was a long time resident of Milford, Delaware. He was a member of the Milford Lions Club and Jaycees. He was active in the Milford Little League and Pop Warner football, holding offices in both organizations. He also served 18 years as a volunteer with the Carlisle Fire Company.

Parker is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maxine Lord Turner, son David Turner and his wife Lisa of Plano, Texas, and son Clay Turner and his wife Diane of Newark, Delaware. Grandchildren include Luke Turner and his wife Caroline, Ben Turner, Madison Turner, and Emily Turner. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Brian Lord. Parker is preceded in death by his sister Joan Smith and her husband Gerald.

An interment service will be held privately at the Milford Community Cemetery.
