Milford — On January 13, 2021, Mary Alice Smith peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
She was born on August 12, 1939 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Milton and Olive McMillan.
Mary Alice received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree from Penn State.
She worked as an Elementary School teacher in Wilmington and Frederica for several years before working many years as a preschool teacher at Avenue United Methodist Church.
Mary Alice was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Milford Memorial and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Milford.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, and stamping her own greeting cards and calendars.
Mary Alice is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy Smith. She is also survived by her children, Karen Moyer and her husband Tim, and Douglas Smith, her grandchildren, Ethan and Luke Moyer, and her brother Ralph McMillan.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has requested the services be private.
