Jesse Pursley, Jr.

On August 30, 2019, Jesse Curtis Pursley, Jr. went home to be with the Lord.

He was born on March 8, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to the late Jesse and Frances Pursley.

Jesse received a Certificate in Labor Studies from Dunlap Community College.

He worked as a Truck Driver for AFSCME for 44 years before becoming an Environmental Inspector for the State of Maryland.

Jesse was a member and a liaison for the Teamster Union #557.

He enjoyed breeding African Grey Patriots and Honey Bees, and in his spare time Jesse loved to fish and a member of The Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Pursley was preceded in death by his 1st wife Francis Pursley.

He is survived by his 2nd wife of 7 years, Catherene Pursley. Jesse is also survived by his children, Joan Hippeard, Kenny Pursley, Sr., and Judith Ann and her husband Scott, his grandchildren, Mr & Mrs Kenny Pursley, Jr. and Laura Comley and her husband Zack, and his great grandson, Nixon Comley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church at 12 noon on Thursday, September 5th. Burial is Millsboro Veteran Cemetery.
