Grace Greenlee

July 1, 1946 — June 28, 2023

Milford

Grace Arlene Greenlee, age 76 of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023 at Bayhealth Hospital.  Grace was born July 1, 1946 to the late Edward W. and Grace I. (Gordon) Bogan.

Grace graduated from Milford High School in 1964, married her high school sweetheart, Tom, the following year, and worked at Masten Home Centers for 20 years after her daughters were born.  In 2009, she retired from the Sitel Group.

Grace was President of the Milford Jaycee Wives and later, State Secretary of the Delaware Jaycee Wives. She was very active in her church serving in numerous roles including Eucharist Minister.  In her retirement, Grace led the St. John’s Social Concerns Committee which included running the food pantry (with the support of her husband) and several other community outreach programs.  In 2014, Grace and her husband Tom were awarded the Order of Merit Medal from the Bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington for all their dedication and service.

Grace's favorite hobbies were sewing and embroidering. (If you knew Grace, you probably own something she made for you.)  She also loved cooking, baking, and hosting large family gatherings (Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas Eve parties, and Easter Egg Hunts). Grace enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports and was known as the Milford Little League Team Grandma.  Grace's happy place was on the beach in Fenwick Island where she vacationed with her family each year.  Most of all, Grace just enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Grace is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Thomas Greenlee; her daughters Theresa Saxon (Scott) of Houston, DE and Kristine Beach (Steffen) of Whitefish, MT; her grandchildren Thomas, Michael, Brian, and Shawn Saxon, and Hailey Beach; her sisters Patricia Andrews (Richard) and Runae Green (Joseph); her brother Robert Bogan; and her sister-in-law Joyce Greenlee and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Timothy Saxon, her sister Mary Propes, and her brothers Raymond, Edward, John, and Ronald Bogan.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 10AM to 1PM on Wednesday, July 5th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Apostle Church at 2PM. Reception following the mass in the church hall.
