Dr. Paul Gorrin

Milford - On May 27, 2023, Dr. Paul E. Gorrin, peacefully passed away at Polaris Healthcare. He was 80 years old.

Dr. Gorrin was born on June 16, 1942 in New York City to the late Michael and Dena Gorrin.

He graduated from New York City’s High School of Music and Art in 1959, Columbia College in 1963, and from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968. He practiced in disadvantaged community healthcare centers in New York City after his residency. Then he moved to Vermont, pursuing a Fellowship at the University of Vermont in lung cancer research. He also worked for UPS and at Ethan Allen Medical Center in Vermont where he met his wife.

Moving to Delaware in 1981, he practiced Internal Medicine in Milford and Millsboro, and served as Medical Director at Stockley Center in Georgetown. He retired in 2012.

He was a member of the Seaside Jewish Community.  Dr. Gorrin was also a member of the Medical Society of Delaware, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

He was an avid fisherman, civic activist, poet, writer, and family man, and loved baseball.  Those that knew him spoke of his kind heart and sense of justice.

Dr. Gorrin is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann Gorrin. He is also survived by his children, Ellen Gorrin, Daniel Gorrin and his wife Leah, David Gorrin and his wife Sally, and Emily Martino and her husband Brian, and his grandchildren, Bailey and Max Gorrin, Eleanor and Louise Gorrin, and Maya Martino.  He also left many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, at 10:30 AM on Friday 6/2. Friends and family may gather at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or to the Brandywine SPCA.
