Christopher Goering

Christopher Grantham Goering, 25, died March 3, 2021.
Chris was a loving, and determined child who grew up to be incredibly
resilient in the face of adversity. From wearing the same Buzz Lightyear
shirt for six months, to a year-long family- wide insistence on camping
in his own bedroom before he’d go to sleep at night, Chris was always
confident in doing things his own way.
Chris’ fascination with dogs started at a young age, initiated by being
bossed around by the family’s Doberman, who once stole a whole turkey
from behind his back. As an adult, this love for dogs grew into a budding
career and a beautiful fur family of his own. His love of dogs will live
on in those that he trained and cared for, and in the puppies of mom,
Luna.
Chris never shied away from the truth - he would admit that his life
hadn’t always been easy, but it seemed things were the best they'd been
in a long time. Chris had worked hard to build something beautiful –
with a job he loved and a new family that he embraced so fully that it is
hard to find words to describe it.
In October 2020, Chris and Ciera welcomed their son, Marcus Xavier.
Marcus and his older sister, Mia, were at the center of Chris’ new life.
Chris embraced being a father of two without hesitation - always the first
to ask Marcus about poo poo in his diapsie - words that contrasted with
Chris’ tough exterior but came naturally nonetheless. The hope is, that
anyone reading this, will help to keep Chris’ memory alive by making
sure Marcus knows how amazing his father was.
Chris will be remembered as a dedicated son, brother, friend, fiancé, and
father.
