Anita Van Horn

On August 18, 2019, Anita T. Van Horn went home to be with the Lord.

She was born on April 20, 1923 in Philadelphia to the late Martin and Alma Treyan.

Anita graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s of Science in nutrition.

When she wasn’t working as a mother, Mrs. Van Horn volunteered her time as a Nutritionist at Emily P. Bissell Hospital.

Upon her husband Franklin's retirement she accompanied him traveling the United States visiting retired pastors, missionaries and supporters of American Baptists Churches USA.

Anita is remembered as a loving, caring Christian woman, serving in her churches, and always known as a praying woman.  She was a terrific mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Van Horn. She is also survived by her son, Rev. Martin Van Horn and his wife Sharon, her daughter, Lynda Parkins and her husband Tom, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday 9/3 at New Castle County Veterans Cemetery.
