William G Morris

Lincoln -- On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, William G. Morris peacefully went home to be with the Lord. He was 72.

Bill was born in Dover, DE, on February 10, 1951, to the late Vance and Edith Morris.

Bill graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1969. He earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware in 1973 and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wilmington College in 2001.

Bill taught sixth grade for the Lake Forest School District for many years. During the last 7 years at Lake Forest, he served as Transportation Supervisor. He retired from the District in 2010. Bill also owned and operated the Tradewinds Fleet, a headboat and fishing fleet out of Bowers Beach and Indian River. He also owned and farmed Morris Farms in Frederica, DE.

Bill took great pride in being a steward of the land and seas. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Old Drakes. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and being outdoors enjoying nature. But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his two grandsons.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gerry Morris. He is also survived by his children, Max Morris of Elberta, AL and Joshua Morris and his wife Jenna of Frederica, DE and his two grandsons, Wyatt and Caleb Morris.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, DE, at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 22, with visitation starting at 5:30 PM.
