William Paul Meding
Of Felton, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 88.
William was born on March 29, 1923 in South Fork, Pa, son of the late Gertrude Meding Szeman.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during WW II, actively involved during Dday in the invasion of Normandy Beach. He completed his tour of duty with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Mr. Meding was a mechanic by trade and the owner and operator of the Gulf Gas Station on State St in Dover for 20 years, retiring from the business in 1981.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Meding was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Meding in 1972.
He is survived by two sons, Wayne Meding of Alpharetta, GA and Paul M. Meding of Georgetown, TX and three grandchildren; Desiree Meding-Harb, Christina Woerner and Hunter Meding.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd, Frederica.
Burial will follow the services.
