Wilbur Jones

FREDERICA - Wilbur Jones passed away in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 30, 2015.  He was 75.

Wilbur was born on December 25, 1939 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, son of the late John and Ruth (Snyder) Jones.

He graduated in 1958 from the Scotland School for Veterans Children in Scotland, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Jones was employed for 24 years as a project manager for Robert Construction Company in Frederica, retiring in 2005.

Wilbur was an avid card player and had mastered many different kinds of games over the years.  He also enjoyed gardening and keeping the birds in his yard well fed.

He was a member and past president of the Frederica Senior Center and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Frederica.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Jones and David Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda A. Jones; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Ron Harris of Harrington, and April Jones of Newark; a grandson, Drew Harris of Harrington; three brothers, Jerome Jones of Honey Brook, PA; Phillip Jones of Baltimore, MD; and Arthur Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; and three sisters, Marilyn Young of Green Lane, PA; Linda Jones, and Arlene Jones, both of West Chester.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 9:00 a.m.

Burial will follow the services in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd, Frederica.
