Verna Reynolds

On October 19, 2021, Verna R. Reynolds (nee Black) peacefully went home to be with the Lord.

She was born on September 13, 1939 in Christiana, PA to the late Lee and Winnie Black.

Verna graduated from Solanca High School.

She worked as a Test Desk Technician for Diamond State Telephone Company before retiring and working for American Greetings Card Company.

Mrs. Reynolds enjoyed yardwork and crafts and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband John R. Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly R. Hughes and her husband Rick, her son, John W. Reynolds, II,her daughter Gail J. McAllister and her husband John, her grandchildren, Christopher, Shawn, Kyle, and Laura, her brother, Marty Black, and her sisters, Ora Lee Moore, Doris Bazell, and Babe Adkins.

A graveside service will be held at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd., Frederica, DE on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to: Compassionate Care Hospice, 405 Marsh Lane, Suite 4, Newport, DE 19804.
