Selene June Draper
FELTON - Selene June Draper was called home on May 28, 2014 while in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 67.
June was born on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Reserve in Ontario, Canada on June 30, 1946 and moved to Delaware as a child. She graduated from Milford High School in 1965.
June was a compassionate person who devoted her time to caring for others.
She worked at Milford Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and later as a home health care provider.
June enjoyed the outdoors, going to yard sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an artist and seamstress, and an avid sports fan, her favorite being ice hockey and the Philadelphia Flyers.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Leona Porter, Deseronto, Ontario; her father Clarence H. "Bud" Walls, Greenwood, and her sister, Diane Manford, Port Orange, FL.
June is survived by her mother, Lorraine Walls of Greenwood; two daughters, Tami Jenkins and wife, Beverly Bright with whom she resided in Felton; Mehgan Wessels and husband, Steven of Hurlock, MD; six grandchildren, Grace Tucker, Mikaela Nickum, Teddy Shields, Ra'hene Hernandez, Bramble Tucker and Elizabeth Tucker; three great grandchildren, Stefan Zarantonello, Ivy Nickum and Dayvon Paddy; seven sisters, Vivian Cebrick and husband Mike of Fenwick Island; Marlene Taylor and husband Billy of Greenwood; Gwen Greenly of Lincoln; Marilyn Glisci and husband Rich of Nanuet, NY; Jackie Carmean and husband Richard of Milford; Candace Fitzgerald of Greenwood; Clair Hughes and husband John of Lincoln; two brothers, Gary Martin and wife Jenny of Ellendale; Clarence H. "Buzzy" Walls, Jr. and wife Donna of Greenwood; 25 nieces and nephews; and Bruce Tucker and his wife, Jennifer of Milford.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963 would be greatly appreciated.
