Robert R. St. John, Jr.
Age 74, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home.
Robert was born on August 2, 1938 in Staten Island, New York, son of the late Robert R., Sr. and Lillian (Bombardi) St. John.
He was employed as a system analyst for 27 years with Geigy and worked an equal amount of years between their New York and Greensboro, North Carolina facilities. He retired in 1989.
Bob was an active volunteer at Abbotts Mill Nature Center where he was instrumental in the restoration of the mill and also enjoyed substitute teaching in math and science classes where he was needed within the Milford School District.
He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Milford and the Milford Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. St. John was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. St. John III.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; E. Scott and Tiffany R. St. John and Christopher M. St. John, all of Charlotte, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacie L. and Scott Robbins of Milford, MA; five grandchildren; Branndon Robbins, Brett Robbins, Samantha Robbins, Sutton St. John and Reese St. John and his companion, Lois Chamberlain of Milford.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Christ Episcopal Church, 200 N. Church St, Milford.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Abbotts Mill Nature Center, 15411 Abbotts Pond Rd, Milford, DE, 19963 or the Milford Public Library, 11 SE Front St, Milford, DE, 19963.
