Ralph Self

Felton – Ralph Self was surrounded by his love ones when he peacefully passed away at his home on August 25, 2018.

Mr. Self was born on October 5, 1941 in Patterson, N.J. to the late James and Mary Self.

He honorably served our country in the U.S.M.C. from 1959 to 1963.

Ralph worked as a splicer with N.J. Bell and later with Verizon as Manager Construction, Pompton Ridgewood District.

After retiring from Verizon, he and his wife Jackie moved to Felton, DE.

Mr. Self was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed visiting historic battlefields with his family. He also enjoyed making stained glass for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jackie Self. He is also survived by his children, Scott Self and Holly Wormald and her husband John, and his grandchildren; Benjamin, Thomas, and Lindsey Wormald.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 10 – 11am on Friday 9/7, with a memorial service at 11am. Burial will be at Delaware Veterans Cemetery – Millsboro.
