Patricia A. Northrop
MILFORD - Patricia A. Northrop passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Milford Center. She was 75.
Patricia was born on October 7, 1939 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Margaret Loudon Bettro and the late John C. Mahoney.
She was a full time homemaker most recently but had been employed at separate times over the years for Nickles, D.A.F.B., Mohawk, the Heartbreak Hotel, Rainbow Inn, the BayView Inn, and lastly with Clifton Precision.
Pat enjoyed going to the casino, playing shuffleboard, communicating through her CB radio known by her handle, "Tastycake", watching the birds in her yard, and always loved and missed her late pet companions, Baron, a German shepherd, and her cats, Bootsie and Rowdy.
She was a member of the Air Force Sgt Assoc, the AARP, and the Frederica Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle J. Northrop and later by her long time companion, Carl W. Stratton, and her step-father, John Bettro.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret L. Bettro of Frederica; her second cousin, James F. Loudon of Harvey Cedars, NJ; and her close friend, Dixie Rhinehardt of Marydel.
They would like to send special thanks for the compassionate care given her by the staff of Milford Center and for the friendship of her roommate, Jerry, and to Rose Shields, a good friend, who was always there to help out when needed.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Road, Frederica. Burial will follow the service.
