Marjorie Dare Poore

Age 89, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at her home.

Marjorie was born on October 1, 1923, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Joseph William and Natalie Sheppard Dare.

She graduated in 1941 from the P.S. DuPont High School. Marjorie continued her education at Beacom Business School graduating in 1942 and then attended classes at Western Maryland College until 1944.

Mrs. Poore worked as an interior decorator/designer for 40 years along with her duties as a full time homemaker and mother.

She was a longtime member and officer in Capt. Jonathan Caldwell Chapter, NSDAR, as well as the State Society NSDAR. Marjorie was also an active member on the Commission of the Milford Museum, and a member and past president of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of Delaware.

Marjorie was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milford, where she was a Deacon and involved in many activities within the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herschel Noble Poore.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey B. and Suzette Poore of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne P. and Calvin L. Musser, III of Laurel; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey B. Poore, II, Nathan D. Poore, C. Landis Musser IV, and Jason Herschel Musser.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will follow the service in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 172, Milford, DE, 19963.
