Marjorie A Churchill

April 6, 1947 — March 17, 2024

Marjorie A Churchill, best known as Bunny, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2024, and is now in her eternal home with her Lord. She will also be met in Heaven by her late husband of 32 years David (Dave) N. Churchill, Sr.

Bunny was born on April 6, 1947, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Burton and June Messick, and moved shortly after to Milford where she spent most of her life. She graduated from Milford Senior High School and went on to complete her 2 years of nursing school. Bunny and Dave met while she was in high school and were married on August 3, 1966, in a small church in Dover, Delaware. After a brief period of time spent in Yarmouth, Maine with her in-laws, she moved to Wiesbaden, Germany to be with Dave where he was transferred per his duties with the Air Force, and it is there they had their first child.

Bunny eventually returned to Delaware, where she and Dave had two more children, residing there for several years before the family moved to Portland, Maine and later to New Hampshire.   During her time in Maine and New Hampshire, she worked as a nurse’s aide in the local nursing home where her skills and personality were greatly appreciated.

Bunny returned to Delaware in 1984 to be home with family, moving to Texas to be with her oldest son in 2020 and finally returning to her home state of Delaware in 2023 where she was able to spend time with her two daughters and her grandchildren, and lived until the Lord called her to be at home with Him.

She loved reading, working on puzzles, watching cooking shows, watching and listening to the birds, walking thru old cemeteries, making up words in Scrabble, listening to music, seeing what flowers bloomed in David’s garden, hearing about her grandchildren’s adventures and being with her family and friends.

Bunny is survived by her three children, David N Churchill, Jr, his wife Melissa, Heather L Carlino, her husband Matt, and Shannon R Holleger and by her sisters Janice Winkler, her husband John and Betty Ann Wells and her husband Joel. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Savannah Churchill and her husband Jesus De La Rosa, Danica Carlino, Marloe Carlino and Caris Carlino, grandsons DJ Holleger and his wife Sydney, Dillon Holleger and his wife Sara, Xavier Churchill and his wife Yulissa Alva, Tobin Carlino and Adric Carlino. And by three great grandchildren, Gabriel and Luna De La Rosa and Aiden Holleger. Bunny was expecting a 4th great grandchild later this year.

Additional surviving family in her life are her nieces Brandi Geise and husband Dewane, Rachel Prince, Bridget Norris and husband Chris, Nicole Orso, and great nieces and nephews, Aaliyah Prince, Justice Ebon and Joshua and Kassandra Hilyard and her brothers-in-law Stuart Churchill-Hoyer and Nick Orso.

She will be greatly missed by all she loved and by all who loved her.
