On June 27th, 2026, Marie R. Barbier, peacefully passed away at Delaware Hospice in Milford.
She was born on June 20, 1931 in Bronx, N.Y., the youngest of eight children to the late Michael and Catherine Paccione.
Marie worked for New York Telephone for 27 years. Starting as a Telephone Operator and retiring in 1986 as a Lineman’s Clerk.
Marie and her late husband lived in New York for many years before retiring to the Eastern Shore in 1986 and then to Harrington, DE in 2001.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, attending a book club with friends and family, creating crafts, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her seven siblings, and her beloved husband, Raymond Barbier, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Barbier Jr. and his wife Jan, Laura Casey and her husband Thomas, Charles Barbier, Sr. and his wife Debra, and Marie Bradley and her husband Michael; her grandchildren; Christopher Battaglia and his wife Leah, Kristen Teti and her husband Scott, Thomas Casey and his wife Nicole, Mary Casey, Charles Barbier, Jr., Katelin Barbier, Megan Bradley, and Ann Marie Bradley; and her great grandchildren, Miriam Battaglia, Isabelle Battaglia, Layla Casey, Charlotte Casey, and Wyatt Casey.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Hovatter Funeral home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 6PM to 8PM on Monday, July 6th and from 9:30AM to 10:15AM on Tuesday, July 7th.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 109 Dixon Street, Harrington, at 11AM on Tuesday, July 7th.
