Linda C. Bless
MILFORD - Linda C. Bless passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Christiana Care in Newark.
She was born in Philadelphia on December 16, 1948, daughter of the late Neal and Kathryn (Swinton) Hess.
Linda was employed as a social worker and job coach for handicapped individuals at the Heartwood Corp in Georgetown, retiring from her position in 2012 to return to full time home making.
Many of Linda's fondest memories were of the people she met and the places she lived and experienced during her husbands 28 year career with the Coast Guard. Being a money conscious person, Linda was always looking for a bargain and became an avid Thrift Store shopper. She also enjoyed camping with family and friends and most importantly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Milford.
Linda is survived by her husband of 43 years, William "Bill" R. Bless; two sons, Peter W. Bless of Boston, MA, and Andrew N. Bless and his wife Alicia of N. Kingston, RI; two brothers, Neal Hess and wife Linda of Monroe, NC, and Barry Hess and wife Loretta of Glenside, PA; a sister, Kathleen Mooney and husband James of Cape May, NJ; and two grandchildren, Alexandra Bless and Andrew Bless.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 North Church St, Milford. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to stay for food and fellowship with the family in the church's adjoining fellowship hall.
Burial will be held privately.
