Lester G. Hastings, Jr.

Of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford surrounded by his family. He was 76.

Mr. Hastings was born on December 27, 1933 in Harrington, son of the late Lester G. and Nora (Webb) Hastings.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Hastings was employed for 33 years with L.D. Caulk in Milford retiring in 1990 as manager of the Silk Screen and Printing Department.

Lester was a lover of sports. He enjoyed playing golf and was a devoted fan of the Braves, Celtics and Packers teams. This love led him to volunteering his time as a coach with the Milford Little League for 17 years. He also enjoyed watching old country western movies.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hastings was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Jefferson; a niece, Kathleen Wyatt and three nephews; Justin Redlich, Brandon Hastings and Randy Webb.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, "Billie" D. Hastings, two brothers; James Webb and his wife Lucy of Smyrna and Harvey Hastings and his wife Louise of Milford; two sisters, Shirley Mobley and her husband Danny of McKinney, Texas and Gail Postle and her husband Woody of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call two hours prior.

Burial will be held in the Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963.
