John "Jack" W. Robinson

Age 85, of Milford, passed away, with family by his side, on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Jean, in Milford.

Jack was born on April 16, 1927 in Philadelphia, son of the late Coleman and Meta (Warnock) Robinson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy proudly serving his country during World War II.

Mr. Robinson was employed as a corporate engineer with Burris Foods, now Burris Logistics, for 41 years. He retired in 1990 but remained in the business as a consultant until 2004.

Jack had a passion for traveling, visiting many destinations over the years. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and working around his yard.

He was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Jean Robinson in 2005; a son, John C. Robinson; a daughter, Joan Passwaters; and a sister, Mary Martha Hamilton.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Jean and Timothy Webb of Milford and Jill Elizabeth and Bruce Daisey of Dagsboro; a daughter-in-law, Karen Robinson of Lancaster, PA; a son-in-law, Larry Passwaters of Milford; two brothers, William Robinson of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Thomas Robinson of Brooksville, FL; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963 or to the American Diabetes Assoc of Delaware, 100 West 10th St, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE, 19801.
