John L. Ney
Of Ellendale, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 84.
John was born on March 31, 1926 in Tremont, Pennsylvania son of the late Lewis and Mabel (Romberger) Ney.
He was a veteran of the United States Army proudly serving his country during World War II.
After moving to Delaware in 1949, he was employed as an electrician with the DuPont Company in Seaford for 34 years, retiring on April 30, 1985.
Mr. Ney had been a life member since 1985 and was a past Treasurer of the Carlisle Fire Company in Milford.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Judith and Robert White of Virginia Beach, VA and Sharon Thompson of Hartly; two sons, Wayne Ney of Georgetown and John P. Ney of Ellendale; three sisters, Florence Machemer and Kathryn Nagle, both of Tremont, PA and Dorothy Artz of Pine Grove, PA; one brother, Harold Ney of Tremont, PA; two grandchildren; Brian Ney and Lesley Ney both of Milford and two great grandchildren, Corrine Ney and Arriana Ney.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963.
