Jean Bizzelle Pyne

Age 85, of Milford, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at her residence.

Jean was born on September 26, 1926 in Tampa, FL, daughter of the late Hendry and Beulah Boss Bizzelle.

In addition to being a housewife and mother, she retired as a teacher's aid from the Lulu M. Ross Elementary School in Milford and served on the Delaware Foster Care Review Board.

Mrs. Pyne was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Milford, serving as an Alter Guild member for many of those years.

Her many hobbies and interests included: sewing, cooking, baking, traveling, investing and family genealogy. This last hobby helped her qualify her daughters for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She particularly enjoyed a good game of bridge with her friends.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Pyne was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Pyne in 1988 and a sister, Lois B. Jones.

She is survived by two daughters; Nancy Boone and her husband Carroll (Sonny) of Milford and Elizabeth Isaacs and her husband David of Milton; two sons, David Pyne and his wife Donna of Milford and Stephen Pyne and his wife Diana of Conneaut Lake, PA; a brother, James Bizzelle of Post Falls, Idaho; four granddaughters, Angela Thoroughgood of Jacksonville, FL; Amanda Harvey of Wallingford, KY; Candice Pyne of Dover and Suzanne Burkley of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandsons, Michael Pyne of Milford and Dylan Isaacs of Milton, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 N. Church St, Milford.

Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963 or Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 191, Milford, DE, 19963.
