Milford – On December 6, 2021 James Leon Baker peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on September 11, 1933 in Bakersville, N.C. to the late Richard and Hazel Baker.
Mr. Baker honorably served our country in the Navy from 1951 to 1954.
After the service he worked for the railroad and retired from Conrail.
He enjoyed volunteering in the community and served in many different organizations, such as; the senior patrolman for the Milford Police Station, chaplain for the American Legion, and Honor Guard for the Korean War Veterans.
Mr. Baker loved to spend time with his family and reading.
He is survived by his daughter Debra L. Baker and her husband Richard Webb, his granddaughter, Angel J. Mills, his grandson, Cody J. Baker, his great grandson, Jordon M. Curry, his brother, Ronnie Baker and his wife Pat, and his sister, Barbara Conroy and her husband Pat.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 12/18 at 11AM at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, with visitation starting at 10AM.
Interment will be private.
