Harold W. Heishman
MILFORD - Harold W. Heishman passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, surrounded by his family. He was 82.
He was born in Wardensville, West Virginia on June 25, 1934.
Harold retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after devoting 27 years serving his country with the United States Air Force. After leaving the military, he and his wife, Shirley, opened Heishman's, Inc., a well- known embroidery company in downtown Milford in 1979. Harold left the business to his sons and accepted a position as a driver for Jor-Lin Tour & Charter in Milford, which he held for 28 years.
He enjoyed bowling, target shooting, and loved time spent with his family camping and fishing. Harold was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
Harold was a member of the Independent Bible Fellowship Church in Harrington, and a longtime member of the Milford Lions Club.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Jean Manning Heishman in 2004 and one brother.
Harold is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Scot and Emily Heishman of Lincoln, and Eric and Kim Heishman of Milford; nine grandchildren, Shane, Jamie, Heather, Gregory, Hannah, Cora, Cody, Seth, and Andrew; and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Independent Bible Fellowship Church, 6797 Milford Harrington Hwy, Harrington, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m.
An additional service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Lindsey Funeral Home, 473 S. Main St, Harrisonburg, Virginia, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow the services with full military honors at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, Virginia.
