On August 18, 2023, Gerald “Jerry” Ronald Harden, went home to be with the Lord. He was 63.
Mr. Harden was born in Dover, DE on January 28, 1960 to the late Louise and Henry Harden of Greensboro, MD.
He attended North Caroline High School and then studied to become an electrician. For many years, Jerry owned and operated a successful alarm security company, J&C Custom Designs, in Greensboro, MD.
He loved motorcycle racing, and served as Pit Crew Chief for the Shaffer Motorcycle Drag Racing team.
In his spare time, Jerry loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed swimming, boating, and fishing on the Choptank River.
Jerry loved to cook and prepare meals for friends and loved ones. His specialties were salmon, bbq chicken, and fried fish with hush puppies.
He was the definition of jack-of-all-trades and an avid mechanic, he knew how to fix just about anything. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.
For over 7 years, Jerry worked and volunteered for the His Hope Ministry homeless shelter in Denton, MD in any capacity they needed; cooking, cleaning, maintenance, and just being a friend to those in difficult times.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Julie (David) Connatser, and LeeAnn (Nathan) Harden, grandson Blaze Connatser, sister Sharon (George) Godfrey, and the mother of his children, Christine (Terrence) Walsh.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 2nd, 2023 at 2:00pm at Refuge Christian Fellowship, 12629 Ridgely Road, Greensboro, MD 21639, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00pm at Cow Barn Events, 101 Cow Barn Road, Ridgely MD 21660.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the family.
