George was born to Frances Bobbin Frunzi and George Frunzi Sr. in Philadelphia on November 13, 1944.    He attended Cardinal Dougherty High School.  After earning a bachelor’s degree from La Salle College, George earned a master’s degree from Villanova and a doctoral degree in education from Temple University.  He served in the Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972.   He began his career in Philadelphia at Mobil Oil Corporation and North American Rockwell Corporation.

In 1971 George moved to Dover, Delaware, to become a professor and later the director of the business department at Wesley College.  He continued his career in education as the director of Wilmington University downstate campuses, and as Superintendent of Sussex Technical High School.   George’s leadership skills enabled Wesley College to grow from a two-year to a four-year college, Wilmington University to expand from one to two campuses, and Sussex Technical High School to change from a shared-time school to a full-time school.

George was known for his immense knowledge of Street Corner Doo-Wop.  He collected records from the 1950-60’s and shared the music with other collectors and listeners as a weekly DJ on a local radio station and an internet station.
