Eileen D Woodland "Rothermel"

On November 22, 2024, Eileen D. Woodland “Rothermel”, surrounded by her loving family and her felines (Sugar Baby, Diamond, and Sky) peacefully passed away at the age of 85.

Mrs. Woodland was born on December 19, 1938 in Salisbury, MD to the late James and Oliva Dickerson.

She graduated from Laurel High School in 1956. Eileen wanted to become a nurse and attended Milford Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1959. She furthered her education by attending Wilmington College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Eileen worked at many local doctor’s offices as well as the School Nurse for Lulu Ross Elementary School.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching the Phillies and the Eagles, and sitting on her front porch in her favorite rocking chair enjoying the outdoors.

Mrs. Woodland was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Woodland, her grandson, Chase Rothermel, her sisters, Gertrude Murray and Eleanor Wilson, and her stepson, Jimmy Woodland.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Rothermel and his wife Tracy, David Rothermel and his wife Tonya, Donna Semans, and Dan Rothermel and his wife Dawn, her sister, Rita Procino and her husband Pat, her step daughter, Janice Webb and her husband Bobby, step granddaughter, Amber Burgin, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Hovatter Funeral on Friday 11/29 at 12PM. Visitation starts at 10AM.
