Duane T. Fox, Sr.

MILFORD - Duane T. Fox, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, with his family by his side after a long battle with heart disease. He was 73.

He was born on November 12, 1940, in Milford, to Lucius T. and Hazel (Willey) Fox.

After graduating from Milford High School in 1958, Duane furthered his education attending Auctioneering School in Billings, Montana.

Duane worked as a carpenter all his life starting with his father's business, later employed with Richard Y. Johnson and Son, and lastly with the Delaware State Parks. He also worked with his father-in-law Burt Willis as an auctioneer at Willis Auction Service, later becoming Fox Auction Service.

Duane was an avid farmer and gardener, for the last 25 years he has farmed with his son and grandsons. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting with beagles. He spent every hunting season in the woods with his two sons and later with his grandsons. Many beagles were trained during those 60+ years.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Thomas and Geraldine Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie (Willis) Fox; two sons, Duane Fox, Jr. and his wife Sandy, Daniel J. Fox and his wife Marie; a daughter, Christine McGee and her husband Jim; a brother, Valvert L. Fox and his wife Dorlene; a sister Charlotte D. Fox; six grandsons, Dylan, Stephen, Drew, Christopher, Matthew, and Bryce; three step-grandsons, one step-granddaughter, and two great step-granddaughters.

The family will have a private service.
