Dr. Rexford Welch

On January 30, 2023, Dr. Rexford L. Welch, peacefully passed away at his residence in Milford.

He was born on February 13, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Edgar and Edna Welch.

Dr. Welch received his Doctorate of Education from the University of Delaware.

He honorably served our country in the Coast Guard and was the Captain of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol from 1970-1972.

Dr. Welch worked as a Professor in the Sociology department at Delaware Technical and Community College, retiring as the Sociology Department Chair.

He was a member of the Milford VFW, Milford American Legion, and the Milford Elks.

Dr. Welch is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally Welch. He is also survived by his son, R. Scott Welch and his wife Amber, and his grandson, Tyler Welch.
