Donna Lee Trager, age 60, originally of Springfield, PA, but like her mother lived all over God’s green earth—including Italy—finally came to rest in Felton, DE. Donna passed away peacefully on the morning of January 31, 2026.
Donna was born on March 20, 1965, to the late Pamela L. Ramsey and was adopted shortly thereafter by Pam’s husband, William K. Lucy. She grew up in the Newark, DE area and graduated from Christiana High School in 1983. She was an active member of FFA and participated in Girl Scouts throughout her school years
From a young age, Donna had a big heart and a “play it safe” adventurous spirit. She adored her koala bears—that’s how her mother first discovered her love for koalas. She enjoyed sewing, relaxing at the beach, and, above all, her coffee—something she truly could not live without. Donna loved boating, fishing, and crabbing (especially eating crabs!), riding motorcycles, horseback riding, and ice-skating. She especially enjoyed playing card games, with her favorite being Canasta, and also spent time in a dart league. She cherished her yearly trips with family to Linvilla Orchards and made Christmas her most magical time of year, going overboard with every decoration she could possibly find. She was an avid reader of novels by Dean Koontz, had a deep appreciation for the sound of bagpipes, and recently developed a delightful fascination with gnomes.
Throughout her life, Donna wore many hats. She worked as a preschool teacher, a bank teller and manager, and at a beloved local crab house. Over the years, she managed multiple businesses, overseeing the books, handling logistics, and ensuring that day-to-day operations ran smoothly. Her strong work ethic, determination, and ability to keep everything organized were hallmarks of both her professional and personal life.
Donna was a strong and resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. She endured difficult battles yet never allowed them to define or defeat her. She often said that her three children were the greatest joy of her life and her reason to keep pushing forward (her two grandchildren were added to that in the more recent years). They were her most precious gift, and she loved them deeply and unconditionally.
Donna is survived by her children, Eric Rodriguez, Ryan Trager, and Christina Trager; her grandchildren, Elijah Rodriguez and Braelyn Trager; her brothers, Mark and Michael Lucy; and her longtime boyfriend, John DiClerico and his children Brooke, Kaitlyn, Kristina, AJ and Justin.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Townsend Fire Company, 107 Main Street, Townsend, Delaware.
