Daniel Anthony D'Agostino

MILFORD - Daniel Anthony D'Agostino passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.  He was 84.

Dan was born in New York City on May 3, 1932.  Growing up as a true New Yorker, Dan learned as much from the city as from his studies, which included a Master's Degree in Business from City College of New York.  Dan's professional career in corporate management spanned 34 years with Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies.

Dan and his wife Jan spent many weekends and summer days at their vacation homes in Ocean City, Maryland, and Broadkill Beach, where friends and family visited often.  In 1987, Dan and Jan made their permanent home in Milford moving from Towson, Maryland.  During his retirement, Dan continued to work taking on such responsibilities as Business Manager for St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford, as well as volunteering for the Milford Memorial Hospital where he served as treasurer for the MMH Auxiliary.  Dan had a real passion for the Stock Market and followed it closely.  Dan and Jan were blessed to have traveled all over the world visiting such places as Egypt, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Italy, and more.  Dan challenged himself in learning Spanish, and offered his time teaching English to Spanish speaking friends.  Dan loved his pets.  He especially enjoyed sitting in the warmth of the sun's rays and the sound of the ocean.

He was "Papa" to his grandchildren, and he never stopped making them laugh.  He will be forever loved and remembered for this and certainly for his homemade sauce and Sunday evening dinners, called "Papa's Noodles".

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marie (Smith) D'Agostino; and very recently his first born son, Ronald.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jan (Witts) D'Agostino; his sisters, Barbara (D'Agostino) Batt, and Patricia (D'Agostino) McGowan; his daughter-in-law, Janice D. Cavanaugh; his son Keith D'Agostino and wife Stacy; daughters, Donna D'Agostino, Lynn Hofferbert and husband Robert; and stepchildren, Daniel Brown and wife Mary, Brigid Cobbs, Kathleen Wirtz, Monica Shano and husband John.  Dan is also survived by his grandchildren, John and Alex D'Agostino, Natalie Hofferbert, Jack D'Agostino, Katie Thomas, Matthew and Andrew Wirtz, Paige Cobbs, and "the boys", Joseph, William and Zachary Durkin; and great-grandson, Mason Thomas.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 516 Seabury Ave, Milford.

Interment will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
