Cornelius Saylor

On July 25, 2023, Cornelius Saylor, peacefully passed away at Bayhealth Hospital – Sussex Campus. He was 76.

Mr. Saylor was born on September 16, 1946 in Pineville, KY to the late Chittle and Verda Rae Saylor.

He worked at Friel’s Cannery as a Mechanic for over 10 years.

Mr. Saylor enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Saylor. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Scharch, stepson, Edward Pruitt, step daughter, Cary McCormick and her husband Mike, his siblings, Delphie Sherwood and her husband Frankie, Earl Saylor and his wife Sue, Junior Saylor and his wife Jean, and Cathy Post, his grandchildren, Erica, Ashton, Brittany, Mackenzie, and Seth, as well as 7 great grandchildren, and extended family in Kentucky and North Carolina.

Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Linda Jane, Sandy, and Diane.

A celebration of life will be held at the Coastal Coon Hunters Club, 743 Fox Hunters Road, Harrington, DE 19952 on Saturday, September 23^rd, from 1PM 10 3PM.
