MILFORD - Charlotte L. Wheelock died peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014. She was 88.

Charlotte was born on September 28, 1925, to the late Frank and Edna (Martin) McCullough and was a lifetime resident of Milford.

For many years, she worked at Montgomery Ward in Milford while also caring for her family and maintaining lifelong friendships. Her great sense of humor and warm personality could captivate any room and always did, right up until her passing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and her life was completely devoted to her faith, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Lester G. Wheelock; and four of her siblings, Frank McCullough, Elizabeth Cohen, Pearl Boetler and Martha Prettyman.

She is survived by her three sons, Roy Wheelock and his wife, Laura of Easley, SC; Lawrence Wheelock and his wife, Carolyn of Greer, SC; and Gerald Wheelock and his wife, Nancy of Lexington, NC; her one daughter, Dorothy Chimienti of Milford; seven grandchildren, Michelle Chimienti of Milford, Gordon Wheelock of Lexington, NC, Justin Wheelock and Jason Wheelock, both of Nevada, Scott Wheelock of Oklahoma and Steven Wheelock and Amy Wheelock, both of Greer, SC; her sister, Dolores Kalious of Rehoboth Beach; her brother, Roy McCullough of Milford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call two hours prior.

Burial will follow the service at the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113.
