On January 27, 2022, Catherine Rossi passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Bayhealth Medical Center in Milford, Delaware.
Cathy was born on March 20, 1950 in Newark, NJ to the late James and Eleanor Grant. She grew up in Bloomfield, NJ and graduated from Bloomfield High School.
Cathy and her husband Eugene lived in Texas and Montana while Eugene served in the Airforce. They moved to Lake Hiawatha, NJ in 1977 where they raised their two sons. Cathy worked in accounting at Fishman & McIntyre Law Firm in East Hanover, NJ for several years before retiring and moving to Milford, Delaware in 2016. Cathy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lake Hiawatha Fire Department. Cathy later joined and become a charter member of American Legion Post 3 and also joined the Milford Elks Lodge #2401. Cathy loved spending time with her family, especially her husband and sons and her Yorkie, Sparky.
She enjoyed taking day trips around Delaware, cooking and baking for family and friends, going to the casino and out to dinner; and playing Flip 5 at the Elks Lodge with friends.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Eugene Rossi, Jr. She is also survived by her eldest son Gene Christopher Rossi and his husband Ryan Archer, and her youngest son Jamie Rossi; her “sissy”, Linda Gaeta and her husband Danny. Her in-laws Bernadette and Angelo Naso, Anthony Del Tufo, Michele and Arthur Pellechio, along with many nieces and nephews. Previously departed is her sister-in-law, Rachel Del Tufo.
A celebration of her life will be held at The Milford Elks Lodge, 18951 Elks Lodge Road, Milford, Delaware, from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday February 12, 2022 with a service at 1:30pm. Pastor Ron DePasquale of Full Gospel Church in Livingston New Jersey will be leading the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cathy’s name may be made to the Veterans Services of both the Milford Elks Lodge 2401 at 18951 Elks Lodge Rd. Milford Delaware 19963 or The American Legion, Post 3, 664 N Dupont Blvd, Milford, DE 19963.
