Carlton L. Plummer

MILFORD - Carlton L. Plummer passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.  He was 91.

He was born in Cambridge, MD, on February 14, 1925, son of the late Oscar and Catherine (Kaft) Plummer.

Carlton was a proud veteran of the Army Air Corp serving his country during World War II.

He was employed as an accountant with Canada Dry in New Castle, retiring after 22 years with the company.  He later accepted a position with Diamond Printing in Wilmington where he worked for five years before moving his family to Florida in 1981. Upon their return to Delaware, he took a job as a cashier with Delaware Park for ten years before leaving to enjoy full time retirement.

Carlton loved the years he spent at his cottage at Broadkill Beach where he enjoyed taking his boat "Shirley Go" out for a day of fishing or clamming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Plummer in 2000, and a brother, James Plummer.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley E. Plummer; his children; Mike Plummer (Barbara), Mark Plummer (Patricia), Patricia Barczewski (Jim), and Matthew Plummer (Val); his grandchildren, Melissa Brown (Matt), Jason Plummer (Amanda), Laura Barczewski, Matthew Barczewski, Rebecca Barczewski, Jaclyn Barczewski, Daniel Plummer, and Samantha Plummer; and his great-grandchildren, Breanna Brown, Kira Brown, Paige Ickes, and Erick Barczewski.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. till 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.

A funeral service with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

Burial will follow the services in the adjoining cemetery.
