Lincoln – On October 14, 2021, Calvin Michael Campbell, Sr. peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 15, 1951 in Milford, DE to the late William and Bernice Campbell.
Mike graduated from Milford High School, class of 1969, and then attended Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines, N.C. where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. After college, he graduated from the Delaware State Police Academy and went into law enforcement. Mike worked as a police officer for the city of Milford and eventually retired from the Delaware State Police after more than 35 years of public service.
After retiring, Mike fulfilled a life long dream by working for the NASCAR Sunoco Fuel Team. He was a devout member of the Temple 9 Masonic Lodge and the Milford Elks.
Mike lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many different things. Some of his favorites included the beach, fishing trips to Cape Hatteras and the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Carnival cruises, Brant Lake, NY, and traveling the country to celebrate family. Above all, he cherished being a proud father, a loving husband, and a loyal friend.
Mike is survived by his wife Susan Swain, son Michael, and brother, Bill Jr. Additional family include his son’s wife Kathleen and their children, Caughlan and Eibhlin, his step children Chris and wife Lauren, Scott, Dana and husband Timmy and their children, Kaylee, Faith, Kaiden, Mason, Alyssa, Abby and Hannah, as well as his brother Bill’s wife Pat and their daughter Beth.
