Betty F. Sharp
Age 86, of Milford, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her home.
Betty was born on November 8, 1926 in Milford to the late William E. and Sadie (Lare) Favinger.
She held many positions over the years in addition to her duties as a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her first job was with the telephone company as a switchboard operator after which Betty worked for several years at separate times as a secretary for Burris Foods and T.I.E. Trucking Company. She later accepted a position with Kent Sussex Industries in Milford as an executive secretary and receptionist where she remained for 24 years before retiring.
In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed golfing as a member of the Shawnee Country Club, participating as a member of the Milford Bridge Club and loved spending time at the beach.
She was a long time member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford where she was active in many church activities and a devoted member of the sanctuary choir and the bell choir.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Sharp, Jr. in 2007; two brothers, Earl W. Favinger and Walter P. Favinger; and two sisters, Mary Gates and Edna M. Argo.
She is survived by a son, Herman W. "Sonny" Sharp, III of Dover; a daughter and son-in-law, Annette S. and Steve Billings of Milford; three grandchildren, Jennifer Sharp and her fiancAC. Agli Goxhaj, Ashley Billings and her fiancAC. Brad Reynolds, and Adrienne Brozefsky and her husband Jesse; and four great-grandchildren, Drew Dominic Brozefsky, Ava Grace Brozefsky, Clara Rose Brozefsky, and Ethan Goxhaj.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow the service in the Milford Community Cemetery on North Walnut Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford, DE, 19963.
