Betty Mae Millman

Of Milford, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 79.

Betty was born on February 13, 1933 in Wilmington, Delaware, daughter of the late James, Sr. and Margaret (Milman) Virden.

Betty was a homemaker for most of her life until going to work for the Kent County Board of Assessment in 1984, retiring in 2000.

Betty enjoyed pony racing, camping, Phillies baseball, cooking for her family, horse racing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She dearly loved the babies in the family. Holidays were her favorite time of year.

She was a member of the South Bowers Ladies Auxiliary #57.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Willard James Millman, Sr. in 2009.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Miller and her husband Ray of West Point, VA; eight sons; Willard Millman, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Milford, Ronnie Millman of Smyrna, Marvin Millman and his wife Kathy of Milford, Ricky Millman and his wife Bonnie of Felton, Dale Millman and his wife Renee of Milford, Kenny Millman and his wife Cheri of Milford, Alvin Millman and his fiancAC.e Carrie of Milford and Alan Millman and his wife Sandy of Lincoln; a brother, James Virden, Jr. of Millsboro; eight grandchildren; Kelly Scarborough and her husband Dean, Karin Stone and her husband Jeremy, Scott Millman, Willard Millman III, Nicole Millman, Ashley Millman, Erin Millman and Aidan Millman; five great-grandchildren, Bryant Stone, Shea Millman and Michael Currence, Jr., Kinslee Hogan and Austin Scarborough and her beloved dog Annie.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service in the Lincoln Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the American Lung Association of Delaware, 630 Churchman's Rd, Suite 202, Newark, DE, 19702.
