On September 23, 2019, Ervin T. Mason, peacefully passed away at his home in Milford.
He was born on November 30, 1937 in Princess Anne, MD, to the late Rayfield and Hattie Anne (Mills) Mason.
Mr. Mason honorably served our country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Ervin enlisted in July 7, 1955 and served until July 31, 1975. During that time he was decorated with the U.S.A.F. Longevity Service Award, Good Conduct Metal, Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal, and National Service Defense Medal.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force Mr. Mason worked as a federal civil service employee at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. Upon retiring from civil service, Mr. Mason worked part time driving a tour bus for minor league sports teams (like the Lakewood, Blueclaws) in the mid-Atlantic region.
He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Ladda and their dog “Tiger”, renovating houses, bowling, golfing, and was a sports enthusiast.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie (Mills) Mason and Rayfield Mason; his sibling, Madeline Bullock, his former wife Marie (Tasserit) Mason (mother of his children, Yacinthe and Marc); he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ladda Mason and the following children; Yacinthe Boehm of Hayes, VA, Marc Mason of Bel Air, MD, Sherry Manzino of Dayton, N.J., Nancy Galleo of Cary, N.C., seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Monday 9/30 starting at 11AM with a Memorial Service at 12 noon at Rogers Funeral Home in Milford Delaware.
Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery – Millsboro, DE at 2:00 PM.
